Biological & Mercury-Free Dentistry

Within the healthcare community, there are growing concerns about the health hazards of mercury amalgam (silver) materials used in dentistry. At Natural Smiles Dental Care we understand the concerns about the dangers of mercury, and how it may affect our patients, our environment, and our staff. Therefore, we provide special barriers while performing the removal and replacement of amalgam fillings. In order to protect our patients and ourselves from mercury exposure, our doctors adhere to the standards established by the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).

Biocompatible Dental Materials

We offer long lasting, biocompatible restorations, including BPA-free composite resin and all-porcelain crowns for both adults and children. Our patients also have the option of renting a dental material testing kit, in order to choose the most biocompatible dental materials from among our selection of preferred products. We happily work with other alternative practitioners to facilitate patients with comprehensive care.

Orthopedic Orthodontics – ALF appliance therapy

Early Orthopedic Orthodontics can be performed on kids as young as four with the aim of jaw development. Critically different from traditional orthodontics, this approach creates more room in the jaw for proper tongue placement, breathing, and speech patterns. Early Interceptive Care can improve long-term results. Lightwire functional appliances exert gentle force and have been shown to be very effective at promoting proper jaw growth. These appliances were designed to work in harmony with the cranial bones, and have been linked with much improvement in overall health as well as enhanced jaw development. Trainers and Myo-functional appliances are removable, and successful in repositioning jaws, especially for the child with lower jaws that are too far back.

Cosmetic Dentistry

We offer a variety of appliances to help with the treatment of snoring, and/or sleep apnea. These appliances work to reposition the lower jaw, allowing the tongue to be in a more favorable position and the airway to be more open, thus improving the quality of sleep. Snoring and Sleep Apnea are linked to a 30% increased risk of cardiac disorders as well as other systemic diseases.
